DSC Registration Guide with the GST Portal

The Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) has provided the user guide on the process of enrolling the registered  Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) including the GST Portal.

So to enroll the DSC at the GST portal designer utility requires it to be installed. The utility can be downloaded via the registrar GST DSC page. The registration is on the grounds of the PAN card and only class 2 and class 3 DSC are accepted on the GST portal. 

DSC is important if the assessee is the public ltd company, Pvt ltd firm unlimited Unlimited Company, Foreign Company, Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), Foreign Limited Liability Partnership, and Public Sector Undertaking.

So to enroll for DSC within the GST portal for the new registration Tap on the register link then choose the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) option, in the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) field, enter the TRN received, and Tap on the continue button. 

Type the OTP in the mobile or email OTP field that you had received in the mobile number and email address. OTP is valid for 10 min. The OTP is however the same for both sending to the email or in the mobile number. If the OTP is not valid then you can try again by Tapping the click here to resend the OTP link. The OTP is then obtained on the enrolled mobile number or email again. Enter the new received OTP again. Tap on the services and registrar or update the DSC command.

If the previous registration login to the GST portal with the valid credentials and go to the My profile link. Tap the register or Update the DSC link. The Register digital signature certificate page is shown. In the PAN card of permitted signatory drop-down list opt the PAN of the permitted signatory which one needs to get registered.

Go and Tap on the option where it is written that I have downloaded and installed the signer checkbox, Click on the Proceed button, choose the certificate.

Tap the Sign button, A successful message that “Your DSC has been successfully registered” is illustrated.
